The first step to becoming a student at New River Community College is to complete an application. We have an online application process that we encourage all prospective students to use.
English and Math Placement Testing is required of all students enrolling in a program of study or taking English or math classes unless you meet exception criteria.
All students entering a program of study which requires math or English courses must meet placement requirements for these courses. Placement may be determined by high school transcripts and GPA, SAT and/or ACT scores, and GED scores; all of which are valid for five years. Additionally, students who are enrolled at another higher education institution or four-year college may submit their college transcripts for placement determination. Students who do not satisfy the placement requirements based upon these multiple measures must take the Virginia Placement Test (VPT).
All students are strongly encouraged to meet with a college advisor to ensure appropriate class selection. Advisors are available Monday through Friday at both the 十大网赌软件推荐 Dublin campus and the Christiansburg site.
Tuition bills will be mailed once you've registered for classes and tuition is due. Students can pay online or in person at the 十大网赌软件推荐 Business Office.
If you applied for financial aid using the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) you will receive notification from the financial aid office through your 十大网赌软件推荐 student e-mail account regarding the status of your financial aid.
